Biting into the Bizarre
By all accounts Bill Ward himself wasn't at all kinky. Yet his BDSM illustrations are often very harsh, full of pain. I've sometimes wondered if this was a product of his distance from sadomasochism or editorial fiat. I will always regret that he gave the women such unseductive faces.

Wow, Bill Ward's stuff was some of the first BDSM-y material I remember, back in my early teens. I'd see it in those "men's magazines" that had beaver shots, naughty cartoons and dirty jokes.
