Couldn't help noticing the modern bikini tan lines of the "white slave" on the reprint cover!
I imagine how rare indeed that such novels were actually reprinted--and with new covers!

John Slater was a prolific Australian pulp novelist in the 1960s and '70s, noted for the frequency and relish with which he described women in bondage. Titles and cover illustrations often reflected this obsession. Later books blatantly carried the by-line "John Slater: stories of Women In Bondage"; there was even a magazine with that title. For an appreciation, see the article "John Slater's 'Women In Bondage' by "Atreus" in Bondage Life number 10 (November 1981), pp. 6-9.
