World renowned fetish and fantasy photographer Dirk Hooper has work accepted in the art show at Dirty Show 9. The Dirty Show has pieces by over 100 erotic artists from around the world and will run from February 8 through February 16 at Bert’s Warehouse Theater in Detroit Michigan.
The Dirty Show will feature artwork from art luminaries H.R. Giger, Hajime Sorayama, Martin HM Schreiber, Justice Howard and Eric Kroll. “It’s an honor to have work next to many of the artists who were such an influence and inspiration to my own work,” Dirk says. This is the third year in a row that Dirk Hooper has work in the Dirty Show.
The piece that was selected, from the thousands of artist who submitted work, is a photo of Toxic Goddess Selkie from toxicgoddess.com. Dirk said, “(The photo) ‘Quicksilver’ is a particular favorite of mine from work I produced over the past year and I was glad to see it was accepted.” The makeup on the shoot was performed by vanguard makeup artist Jennifer Marks.
Dirk Hooper is a world renowned photographer, fine artist, graphic designer and writer whose work has been described as “forbidden tales to rival the likes of H.P. Lovecraft and the Marquis de Sade.” Dirk’s publishing credits include such diverse media as comic books, music CDs and slick fetish magazines. He has also cultivated a reputation as a fine artist in established venues like the prestigious Fred Jones Jr. Art Museum and as an underground visionary in galleries like the Electric Chair and the Dirty Show in Detroit. Dirk has work in the permanent collection of the Kinsey Institute based at Indiana University.
