When I saw the title of the article the first stereotype that came to mind was that of Asian women as submissive and service oriented.

The "selfish type" is also quite common among those who seek out Asian company. One common manifestation is the Western man who seeks out an East Asian/Southeast Asian wife based on the idea that she will do all the housework and he would not have to do a thing. A Thai women told me about how her black male friend wanted to date her because he had seen his brother's Korean wife take care of *everything* (he emphasized *everything*) around the house without troubling his brother. He assumed that other Asian women would behave similarly and thought that it would be nice to get a diligent wife to take care of everything for him too. Now why would a man want a wife who does *everything* around the house unless he is a lazy, selfish person who wants to do *nothing* at home?

The appearance of fetish magazines focusing on the African-American woman was surprisingly long in coming.

Black BDSM magazines and newsletters began publishing in the 70's and continued for many years. Black Amazon Digest, Black Mistress Review, Obeah and Black Leather In Color are a few of the more recognizable publications. Most of the early magazines were used primarily by White males searching for Black female mistresses. Black Leather in Color was the first fetish magazine created specifically for people of color by people of color. Today most Black BDSM newsletters have been replaced by online versions or ezines.
